How do I know my car's air-con needs a service?
Common signs are air that isn't as cold as it used to be, air that takes a long time to cool down, weak airflow, a musty smell from the vents, or unusual noises when the air-con is switched on.
What is an air-con regas?
A regas removes the old refrigerant, checks the system holds a vacuum (a basic leak test), and recharges it with the correct type and amount of refrigerant for your vehicle. If the system has a leak, we'll find it and quote the repair first — regassing a leaking system just wastes your money.
How often should car air-con be serviced?
On the Gold Coast, where air-con works hard most of the year, we recommend a check every one to two years, or any time you notice it isn't performing as well.
Which refrigerant does my car use?
Most older vehicles use R134a, while many newer models use R1234yf. Tell us your make, model and year when you book and we'll confirm.
Can a blocked cabin filter affect my air-con?
Yes. A blocked cabin filter reduces airflow and can cause smells. We check it as part of every air-con service and can replace it on the spot.
